NTT DoCoMo has announced a “femtocell” service that will enable its 3G phones to connect to home broadband networks via Wi-Fi routers, beginning in June. It will be sold under the "Home U" brand name, at a monthly charge of 1,029 yen (€6). VoIP calls to other Home U users will be free of charge, and to non-Home U users will be 30% cheaper than normal charges. No signup fee will be required.
