"KABUKI DANCE" LECTURE AND PERFORMANCE BY SHASEN TACHIBANA
Kabuki actor, dancer of japanese classical dance and head of the Tachibana School of Nihon Buyo SHASEN TACHIBANA grants a look behind the scenes of Kabuki theatre. Dance performance is in "suodori"-style, without wearing special costumes, makeup and wigs.

application and explanation of kumadori - characteristic Kabuki makeup
demonstration of the dressing of the onnagata
"Sagimusume" dance of the onnagata (male actor specializing in women's roles)
"Kanjincho" dance of the tachiyaku (male role)
